Can A Swollen Uvula, Developed After Oral Sex, Be An STI?

Hi I have a few questions. I'm a bit scared right now. I had oral sex with a male and I was pretty rough on him, if you will, and it was for a good period of time as well. My uvula is swollen and has a red jellyish like substance hanging from it, it does not come off, it does not hurt, but my uvula appears to be quite swollen and touches my tounge. This happened almost immediately after the oral sex. Could the penis just have irritated my uvula? Could this be an STI? What can I do to solve this?!

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain swollen uvula also known as Uvulitis after having oral sex that has happened immediately does not seems to be due to Sexually transmitted infection as STI's has a lag phase that is a time duration between exposure to infection and occurrence of symptoms..

Therefore the symptoms will appear atleast 2 to 3 days after oral sex and not immediately..

The symptoms can be most probably due to bacterial infection due to improper maintenance of genital hygiene while traumatic injury to soft palate and uvula can also be a cause..

I would suggest you to consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated..

You can be advised a throat swab culture for a confirmation of diagnosis..

A course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory medication along with warm saline gargle and a soft diet can help in relieving the symptoms.
