Can A Tampon Stuck Cause Chills, Sweating And Diarrhea?

I recently had a tampon stuck (string broke off). When it was time to change it, the string broke off. I went to a clinic and had it removed. However, the next day I started with chills/sweating, and nausea. then following day, i had chills/sweating, nausea, and diarrhea. Now I just have diarrhea.... Is this TSS?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
The symptoms what you are experiencing does not appear to be classic of toxic shock syndrome. Symptoms might have appeared due to retention of tampon for some time inside, suggesting presence of infection.
Now, since it has been removed, you can take the following treatment to overcome the symptoms. Take Tablet.Paracetamol and a course of antibiotic Tablet.Metronidazole. Keep yourself well hydrated by consuming good quantity of fluids.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside. In case any of the symptoms worsen, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
