I am a 51 year old female in menopause. Previous health issues were ovarian cysts removed 21 years ago. Sub total colectomy 3 years ago because of diverticulitis. I am also taking protonix once a day for esophagitis in the lower guadrant. Since I started the protonix I have no acid reflux. I also have constant bouts with constipation. I also have suffered from migraines since I was 20 years old. They come in waves. As few as 2 a month to 3 a week. I take Treximet as needed as a last resort because of the esophagitis. For the last several years I have been getting joint and muscle pain. I have sun and heat sensitivity. In the last several months I have started getting sporadic soreness in my sternum, that hurts worse in certain positions. It feels like someone punched me. It also comes and goes. Presently I have know pain there. However, about a month ago I started with throat pain, more in my thyroid gland, particularly on the left side. It is hard to swallow, my ear hurts, I get hoarse by the evening, cough and have a hard time catching my breath. I sleep propped up at night. The last 5 evenings, I have had a fever of about 100f. The symptoms seem to get worse as the day goes on. My doctor did blood work and check thyroid levels, blood counts, and for connective tissue disorders and lymes disease. Everything came back normal. She also had me do a thyroid ultra sound which has determined I have modules. I go in 2 weeks for the radiaiodine scan. My question is , is it normal to have a fever and feel this awful just from nodules when I just have nodules or should I be concerned for other things?
