Can Accidental Contact With Androgel Cause Cystic Acne On Lower Chin And Jaw Line?

My husband has been using Androgel for the past two months. For the past month I have been getting cystic acne on my lower chin and jaw line. He applies the gel on his shoulders and washes his hands afterwards. Could I be coming in contact with the gel somehow?

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Adult onset acne is usually seen over chin and jaws. Cystic acne denotes severity of acne. In an adult female, acne onset usually points towards an underlying hormonal derangement. Management in such cases requires hormonal investigations as well as prescription of oral drugs like isotretinoin/azithromycin/doxycycline/ oral contraceptives etc along with topicals like adapalene/tretinoin/clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide.

I do not think your acne onset is related with your husband's androgel application.
Hope this helped.
Take care
