Can Acidity Cause Right-sided Back Pain?

I am experiencing pain in my upper back right side. The pain comes and then I have to burp and then the pain goes away after I burp. It has been going on since yesterday. I am thinking it is gas but just wondered if it is common for gas to affect your back?

Hello,

It seems like you have Gerd. It is possible to feel pain in your back when having Gerd. I suggest avoiding alcohol or drinks with gas. Eat slowly and small portions. After eating don't go to bed immediately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
