Can Acne, Pimples And Sore Throat Be Inter-related?

All of a sudden, i have gotten pimples on my face that i have never gotten before, like on my cheeks where acne never used to be a problem. The pimples are somewhat itchy and some are dry too. I have also had a bit of a sore throat and think that maybe there is a link?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the pimples and sore throat. Pimples are caused due to over-activity of oil glands and are age related condition. In sore throat, there is infection at the throat area due to variety of causes.

Sore throat and pimples have no correlation, so don’t worry about the same. For your pimple you need along term follow up with a good dermatologist to get earliest relief. For sore throat just do saline gargles and can take a course of antibiotics if required.
