Can Air Travel Be Undertaken Safely Post An Optic Stroke?

my friend has just had an optic stroke (stroke in his eye) He had immediate medical attention where he received 2 needles in eye to relieve pressure, then had to take pills. Today he went back for appt and pressure seems to be good and now moved to drops. He is due to return home (winter living in Arizona lives in Canada) first of April. Would you think he would be OK to fly ?
