Can Alcohol Cause Joint Locking And Inability To Move?

My son is 47 years old. He tried to get up out of bed and could not move his right arm and right leg. Eventually he got them to move. He had been drinking whiskey before and wondered if that had anything to do with it. He is okay at present. Should he see a doctor?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

He may need to see his doctor for assessment.

It is possible that he may have experienced a TIA (transient ischemic attack) which is a minor stroke.
Symptoms can last for minutes to hours.

This is more likely if there are risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, inactivity and overweight/obese.

I hope this helps
