Can Alcohol Cause Rectal Bleeding With Floating Stools?
hi. I m usually very healthy 35 year old woman. my husband and I had a weekend of hiking and hanging out in our travel trailer. we also had seafood for dinner with whole grain pasta, pine nuts and veggies. We also drank a bottle of wine and some vodka. the next day I was hung over and had blood in my stool. is this common of hang overs? now, a few days later, my stool is floating. I did 4.5 miles on the treadmill yesterday evening with a gap in my normal energy. is my body still getting rid of the alcohol?
well alcohol if consumed chronically can cause ulcer, which can cause coffee coloured stools. But an isolated incident of blood in stools warrants stool investigations. At present i would suggest you to observe stools, look for associated complaints of pain, fever, etc. A consultation to local general surgeon can prove helpful.
