Can Alcohol Have Bad Effect On The Embryo In The Initial Stages Of Pregnancy?

Hi.

It seems like I am pregnant. Two days past from my expected period. My concern is that I used alcohol, not that much but, a bit more than standard drink, few days ago. I worry that this may have bad effects. I just did not know that I am pregnant.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Taking alcohol on a regular basis in first few months of pregnancy can cause fetal malformations and can cause a fetal alcohol syndrome. A single drink is not likely to cause any adverse effect.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
