Can An Ankle Sprain Cause Stiffness And Painfulness?

i rolled myankle i and there is pain, swelling, but no dicoloration after almost six hours. i can walk on it but if its been resting it becomes stiff and painful but after a bit of moving around the pain subsides. do you think its broken or just sprained
