Can An Antibiotic Treatment Help To Cure An Swelling Caused By An Infection?

I have a swelling on the left side of the back of my head. About 4 inches from my shoulders. 1.) Is there a Lymph Node in that area. 2.) Is the swelling normally caused by an infection cause I have a rash all over my head.
3.) Can this be successfully treated with Antibiotics.
Thanks,
Art Osborne

Hi

See the type of swelling that you have can develop due to various reasons.
It can be due to any localized infection in the from of an abscess or cellulitis or it can be a swollen lymph node or it can be a benign skin lesion in the form of a lipoma.
You surely need further assessment to find out the cause of the skin swelling.
I would advise you to see a dermatologist or a physician for the proper diagnosis and management.
