Can An Infection After Surgery Cause Sore Muscles?
Hi Dr My wife had a laproscopic surgery yesterday and discovered that she had some scar tissue adhesions in her abdomen that was the cause of some pain and discomfort, The surgery went well and all was well until this morning. She woke with sore muscles similar to how they would feel if she had worked out hard for a long time. Our concern is: what can cause this? A side affect from the surgery? and infection of some kind? ( no fever or other symptoms) . A side affect from the medicine (motrin and hydrocodone) Sorry about the misspellings. Can an infection cause this symptom?
Muscle pain, which is felt all over your body, is often related to an infection. Depending on the type of the infect the treatment should be with antibiotics to treat the infection. Anti-inflammatory medications should be used to treat the muscle soreness.
