Can An Injury At The Back Of The Mouth Cause Inability To Scream?

My boyfriend poked a pen on accident through the back of the roof of his mouth, by his tonsils. It punctured through and he spit up blood. He went to the hospital where they gave him an antibiotic and told him to use salt water for it. He loves to "scream" like in hardcore bands and he is concerned about its healing and is scared he may never get to scream again. Please help me.
