Can An Itchy Knee And Lumps In Underarm Be Related To MRSA Relapse?

Hi, I ve had an itchy bruise on my knee for the past week and a half and the bruise is going away but the itch remains. It started itching when I was on vacation in Las Vegas. I went to the gym and spa but only used a cardio machine which I wiped down with antibacterial wipes & only used the sauna at the spa. I was diagnosed with mrsa two months ago & took antibiotics. The swelling in my underarms went away as soon as I finished my prescription, but now I noticed two small lumps under my left underarm that are itchy. Am I having a MRSA relapse and is the itchy knee associated with that? Or is it scabies? There are no bumps on the bruise.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

I see no correlation between the bruise on knee and small lumps under the armpit. I am suspecting the itchy bruise to be eczema which needs to be examined by a skin doctor. The lumps under the armpit, if itchy could be folliculitis caused due to bacterial infection most common being staphylococcus. But if it is MRSA or not, that has to be confirmed by bacteriological culture and sensitivity. I suggest you get a culture and sensitivity test done and get appropriate antibiotics prescribed by a doctor nearby you based on the test results.
Keep the area clean and dry.
Thanks.
