I have been to doctor who examined small bumps around my anus and said they look similar to pimples or small boils but hadn t a clue what they were. They are not warts.Online research leads me to think this is folliculitis-- which seems like more of a symptom than a diagnosis. I m wondering if it is related to a condition I suffered most of my adult life - Hidradenitis suppurativa?? These bumps started right at the time the HS went into remission, just as I became pre-menopausal. HS is certainly related to my hormone production, I can attest to this. It flared every time I menstruated (all my life this was true) and then went into remission immediately upon my entry into pre-menopause. I ve not had a flare-up since my last period over a year ago. But.... I have this instead. Despite the lack or research on HS or knowledge of folliculitis, I am beginning to think autoimmune disorder - for both. The bumps seem to be creeping into my labia now. It s been nearly two years. Thoughts?
It could be ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease also.Inflammatory bowel disease usually present in a similar way. But also it could be associated with other gastrointestinal symptoms like frequent diarrhea , bloating of stomach, oral and anal ulcerations.
