Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to see a Doctor for my insomnia and he prescribed a sleeping pills called temazepam 30mgs and ask me to get blood test done ..My question is it possible that i am anemic and thats the reason why i have difficulty getting to sleep..hope you can help me thank you
Yes, anemia has found to be related to insomnia in many cases. Insomnia in most people is a chemical imbalance in the brain that is triggerred by some other abnormality, which in your case can be anemia. Measuring the degree of your anemia and accordingly going about either oral supplementation or blood transfusions to help treat it would be the most wise next step. Once correction is complete and you are able to maintain a good and normal level, observing your sleeping habits should begin.
Best wishes.
