I have been diagnosed with Graves Disease. I have been hyperthyroid previously (7 years ago) but was unable to do the Uptake/scan b/c I was nursing. I went on PTU and have been normal for the last 6 years. I was only on PTU for about 3-4 months. My doctor ordered a hepatic panel and intact PTH to see how my liver is. All the numbers come in normal EXCEPT for the SGPT (ALT) which is 58 in a range of 7-56. Do you think I will be able to take anti-thyroid meds again to normalize the thyroid?

Hello Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query. I understand your concerns. SGPT 58 is not a matter of concern. Do not worry. Mild elevation in the enzyme levels is quite common in patients taking antithyroid medications.
You should continue your regular dose of antithyroid medications.
Keep a watch on your liver function tests every 3 months.
Thank you
