Can Antibiotics Be Taken During IUI Procedure?

Hello , I just has an iui and my Re prescribded me antibiotics will it affect the process , I m afraid to take them ( it s my second iui cost money) but I m afraid to get an infection . please help . I live in haiti , I m 36 , trying for first baby : (

Hello and welcome to HCM .

The antibiotics which are not contraindicated in pregnancy like doxycline,azithromycin or amoxicillin is around IUI procedure to prevent pelvic infection caused due to procedure.It is less likely to affect the process.
Keep a look on symptoms of infection after the procedure like fever,foul vaginal discharge,persistent back or lower abdominal pain so that you can report immediately to your treating doctor.
