Can Antibiotics Solve Sinus Infection And Flu Problems?

I've had a flu sinus problem that turned into a sinus infection. Just started taking the antibiotics last night. This morning, pressure on my left side of my face has grown very severe to the point that my teeth are numb. My jaw on the left side also hurts very badly. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. Sinus problem has to confirmed by a CT Scan for sinuses and better to go for CT of the facial bones too . Infected tooth can cause the same pains. Antibiotics for a long time may solve the sinus problem. Flu per se is viral which needs symptomatic treatment only.

General & Family Physician Dr. Chetan Kumar Jain's  Response
Hi ,
Welcome to hcm.
Ya antibiotics can treat your infection of sinuses but at ur present complsins its better to get your self investigated with xray and CT Scsn (if xray is not completely informative as your symptoms point towards some secondary complications of sinus infection. Thanx.
