Can Any Infection Get Transmitted Through Sex?

Hi, im a 27 year old male, i just had sex with my gf, who was a virgin and it was her first time with me. after few days, she complained to me of having itching and now a yellowish discharge. My fear is, i have none of this symptoms and it really bothers me, could it be possible that im infected too or what?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I suggest a likely possibility of bacterial vaginosis.
It is not an STD but can happen even otherwise. The reason being alteration of vaginal bacterial flora.
The underlying reason for bacterial vaginosis is either a new sexual partner or vaginal douching.
Vaginal discharge in bacteria vaginosis is grayish or yellowish and has a fishy smell to it.
Treatment of bacterial vaginosis is with Oral antibiotics e.g metronidazole, tinidazole, clindamycin etc.
I suggest her to visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful and avoid sexual contact for a week till the condition has completely resolved.

Regards
