Can Any Online Doctor Help In Reading Blood Test Result?

I just had a blood test showing my biliruben to be negative and my total biliruben score at 21 (score range is -22.99 in Ontario). I do not smoke or drink and overall health is excellent. Why is my score so high. My Dr. tells me not too worry. Please explain.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Your total bilirubin is on the higher side however, it is still within normal range.
There is nothing to worry.
Total bilirubin levels can become high in liver diseases like viral infections, cirrhosis, hepatocyte damage, obstruction of extrahepatic biliary tract etc.
Alcoholism causes hepatocyte damage and thus elevated bilirubin levels.
See whether you have any of these risk factors.
If yes you can take measures to control high bilirubin levels.

Thanks and take care
