Can Any Online Doctor Help Me With The Test Results?

After a ct scan of my sinuses I received this report:
Incidental coarse extra-axial round
calcification in the right middle cranial fossa abutting the
calvarium along the right lateral temporal lobe probable incidental
calcified meningioma. This is small measuring 1 cm without mass
effect on the underlying temporal lobe
I am a 46 year old woman, 5'10", 200 lbs. Good health. What does this mean? I am scheduled for an MRI in a week.
Thank you!

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

According to CT Scan reports,
You have small meningioma (tumour) in your brain which is outside the axis of brain and it is generally benign in nature.
Meningioma are extra axial lesions arises from meningeal cells. In your case it is in the right middle cranial fossa along the right lateral temporal lobe.It is not causing any mass effects to surrounding structures.
You should consult your neurosurgeon for further management.
MRI(Plain and contrast)should be done for further evaluation.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
