Can Arm And Digit Pain Be Due To Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

I am 27 weeks pregnant and I have been suffering with carpel tunnel syndrome in both my hands. This morning I woke up with sharp pain shooting through my left arm all the way to my fingers..I am unable to do anything with my arm..it is cringed to my side. Is this caused from the carpel tunner or can it be more serious and what can I do?
