Can Back Injury Causing A Lump With Swelling And Sensitivity Be Treated?

slipped & fell on stairs injuring lower back. Lots of swelling & sensitivity but have full movement. This happened 8 days ago. Lump on lower spine and swelling in surrounding area. Should I seek medical help? Should I be concerned about future complications?
