Can Bacterial Infection Cause A False Positive Results On Herpes Test?
ok, recently I went to my primary care doctor May 27,2015 to get tested ...and they took blood and a urine sample and she told me she was going to send my samples out to get tested and it was going to take a couple of days...but Saturday I received a letter in the mail dated May 28,2015 from my primary care doctor stating that my test came back abnormal ...I was still having abdominal pain at the time so I went to the hospital May 30,2015 (Saturday) to find out what was really going on the hospital took five tubes of blood ,a urine sample, and did an x-ray the nurse finally came in and told me that they only found bacteria in my urine ..so this pass Monday I went back to my primary care doctor and she told me that i tested positive for herpes....could this be wrong? why didn t the hospital tell me this ? Could the bacteria infection cause a false positive on my herpes test?e
According to the history of your symptoms, it might be to have bacteria in urine and herpes serology in blood positive. There is no error here. You should be treated for both. Please follow your doctor's recommendations.
