Can Bad Breath Caused By Pancolitis Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with pancolitis and taking Delzicol for about 7 months. Now I have terribly bad breath. Can this be a result of the colitis and can it be treated. My teeth are in great shape; have regular cleanings every 6 months, no cavities, etc.

Hi,

As per your medical history the chances of periodontal disease increases in ulcerative colitis or pancolitis. But you said there is no visible dental problem.

You need to visit a dentist to check if there is any marginal gingivitis that is making your breath bad. Also, upper GIT infections are also responsible for bad breath too.

Make sure you don't keep your stomach empty but when your gastroenterologist advises you. Brush your teeth twice daily, using mouth freshener tooth paste.
