Can Barely Hear On Right Ear. Q-tip Has Blood On It. Had Ear Infection. Suggestions?

I caught the flu and got an war infection 6 days ago. Just finished my last dose of antibiotics and can hear much better but I think I damaged my right ear by putting too many qtips in it too far. Now I can barely hear out of my right war and when I stick a q tip in it a very very small part of it has blood on it. Will this go away on its own? The best way I can describe the feeling is that it feels like that ear is clogged. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding loss of hearing from your right ear and most likely you have damaged your right ear drum by piercing by q-tip.

Though you are feeling as your right ear is blocked and it is similar to situation as observed in eustachian tube dysfunction.But you have seen blood in q-tip is suggesting trauma to ear drum.

To treat this you should do-

(1) Take antibiotic orally.

(2) Keep ear clean & dry.

(3) Don't put any ear drop to your ear.

(4) Decongestant.

This conservative treatment may treat you but if it fails than surgical intervention will become necessary.
