Hi,
Bleeding during early pregnancy can be either due to implantation, due to threatened abortion or due to a missed pregnancy. The exact cause can be identified through follow up sonograms, regular monitoring and rest. If the bleeding subsides and fetal viability is good with good progress of pregnancy, it is an implantation bleed or threatened pregnancy which has settled. Else, if pregnancy has not progressed as it should, with falling titres of serum beta-hCG, it indicates a missed abortion. In your case, it is most likely to be an implantation bleed. Precautions to be taken are absolute bed rest, avoidance of all stress including intercourse; hormone supplements may be used as needed. Hope this helps.
