Can Blood Pressure Medication, Blood Thinners And Aspirin Be Taken Together?

I have a friend who had a heart attack and a stroke. He is currently taking 2 kinds of blood pressure medicine and 2 kinds of blood thinners, a cholesterol pill, a pill for nerve pain and 81 mgs of aspirin. This sounds like too much medicines! Is this normal to take this much?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear. Thank you for using HealthcareMagic!

I read your query and understand your concern. I am seeing that his situation is a bit serious (a heart attack and a stroke) and I think that this medication is completely justified. Maybe past this situation his doctor will reevaluate the treatment especially the blood thinning treatment.

Hope this clarifies your concern. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Take care

Regards,
