Can Blood Sugar Level Fall If Following Strict Diet Control With Medication?

I have been taking metformin for 3 months. I started an eating healthy diet and the treadmill two weeks ago. I just took a blood sugar test two hours after a meal with the results of 93. My question is - can my blood sugar go too low if I stay on 2 metformin and continue to eat right & exercise?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

First let me appreciate for your positive approach in diet and exercise. Yes you are correct, In early diabetes, where it can be controlled with diet and exercise, there is every chance for the sugar levels to be lowered more with medication as in your condition. In such cases, If I were treating doctor, i would advice stopping of medicine and follow diet and exercise along with blood monitoring.

Hope this guides you.
Thank you.
