Can Body Rashes Be Caused By Lithium Used In Spas?

I was diagnosed with Scabies recently after suffering with a severe rash over most of my body. However after weeks of treatment it was not going away. By accident I discovered that Lithium is used as a chemical in hot tubs/spas. If the hot tub is not drained regularly (every 6 to 8 weeks) there can be a build up of lithium. I know from a past experience that I am allergic to lithium in oral medications. Is it possible that over time the lithium in the spa has been taken in through the skin in my body and this has caused the rash?
