Can Boric Acid Capsules For BV Expire?

Can boric acid capsules for BV expire? And if so is it dangerous to use them when expired? I am 32, 5'4, 130 pounds and have a history or bacterial infections and yeast infections. I use boric acid capsules to help prevent and treat this. I used one then noticed my boric acid was expired. Is it now ineffective or dangerous?
