Can Boxing Cure Bilateral Gastrocnemius?

Hi there, my son is due to have a bilateral gastrocaemulus slide at the end of the month, he is 10yrs old, he has started training with a boxing trainer, who thinks he may be able to help him without him having to have surgery. Is that possible? I would rather that then have him go through with with surgery and all the rehab and healing pains. Thanks Karen.
