Can Caffeine Cause Tingling Sensation In Wrist And Burning Sensation?

I'm 43, 6'2, 230lbs., non-smoker,light drinker one day/wkend, slightly high /normal cholesterol is only med history. Lately when I drink more than 2 cups of coffee, I get a slight squeezing/burning, sometimes tingling sensation on my left wrist for approx. 15 min then goes away. no other accompanying symptoms and I do sleep on my left side, arm up under my head and often wake with slight shoulder/neck discomfort, should I stop caffeine?

Hello, and thanks for your question.

Caffeine can cause anxiety, as it activates the sympathetic nervous system. Anxiety and symptathetic activation can cause uncomfortable physical sensations such as burning and tingling. I would cut down on the amount of caffeine you are drinking, and these symptoms are very likely to go away.
