Can Calcimax 500 Be Taken With Ayurvedic Medicines?

Hi,

My mother is 70 years of age and has a knee problem since a year and is under ayurvedic medicines. She's better now, but, the doctor has said to stop calcimax 500 for few months till March. Hence, I wanted to know, can calcimax 500 be taken on Ayurvedic medicines?

1. Since Calcimax 500 have 4 different salt, thus with prolonged use one may have trouble with
1.Constipation, flatulence, increased calcium level in blood, due to increase absorption of calcium by [calcitriol],
2. blood disorders with [Cefopodixme],
3. GI Irritation with [Magnesium]
4. stomach Upset with [Zinc], moreover Medicines in Ayurveda also have Calcium/Zinc in them [one form or other]

2. It is wise to check her renal functions [urea,creatinine] since special precautions are required in elderly [70 years], renal impairment.

3. If taking any iron/steroid preparation: there will be reduced absorption of calcium.

PS. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
