Can Cannabis Consumption Cause Any Problem For General Anesthesia?

I'm undergoing general anesthetics in the day after tomorrow and when the doctor asked about my cannabis consumption i claimed i smoked sometimes but not every day, yet i do smoke everyday. i would really enjoy smoking now but i'm worried about the possible complications? will there be any?

I understand your concern. Cannabis is known to interact with certain drugs used in general anesthesia by either potentiating or by decreasing their effects. Another well known consequence of smoking cannabis is increased post-op nausea and vomiting. However, the full extent of interaction of cannabis with anesthesia is not fully known and is still being explored.
