Can Cardiac Caterization Lead To Inguinal Hernia ?

My mother had a cardiac catherization on January 19th and I had her back to the ER last night with groin pain and swelling. After an ultrasound they stated she now has a inguinal hernia . Can the first procedure cause the hernia. That is all I need to know today. Just someone giving me a straight answer. Thank you for your time
