Hello Drs... I have been living with mold (black color) in my rental home/art studio for approx 6 years... just realizing its existence and having house tI can find a new place. I recall mold in the basement of the home where I grew up/my bedroom too. I have several symptoms, increasing as I age. Wondering if cardio myopathy can be caused by mold... my mother and brother both died of this in late 40s early 50s... I am not biologically related to them... Thank you! Any advice appreciated!

black mold is usually a aspergillus niger. usually aspergillus infection occurs after chronic exposure. again if you are immunocompromised than chances of infections increase to heart. it requires constant fungemia to cause cardiomyopathy.
