Can Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Be Occurred Again?

Is it possible to have carpal tunnel syndrome again. 9 years ago i had carpal syndrome operation on both hands and i am now experiencing the same symptoms in my right hand. Does this mean i will need surgery again or is there some other way to treat his problem
