I am in my second trimester (20 weeks) and I have cervical polyps. I was bleeding before during the first trimester but it now stopped. Occasionally I have a scant brown discharge when I am constipated. My OB Gyns (4 of them ) suggested it needed to be remove because it will cause infection and can cause the loss of the baby. One OB-Gyn suggested to wait when I give birth. I am in limbo right now. What should I do?
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Cervical polyps, if not causing any bleeding or problem, should not be removed in pregnancy, as the blood supply to the cervix is increased in pregnancy. If operated during pregnancy, it can lead to excessive bleeding.
