Can Chest Tightness, Breathlessness And Fatigue Be Due To A Virus?

My 21 year old son, an athlete, h as been diagnosed with moderate cardiospy, his sympioms were chest tightness, shortness of breath and fatique, what could have caused this, would a virus have caused it, he had a virus last april, we are waiting to see a cardiologist, what are they likely to say

I am very sorry for that.i think he is diagnosed with cardiomyopathy .yes viruses are very important and one of most common cause of it.in this condition chambers of heart get dilated.and because of this they are unable to pump blood effectively . Most of patients present with breathlessness mainly on exertion . Some may have chest tightness palpitations and fatigue.plz don't get panic.you need a cardiologist who will diagnose the condition and he will tell you about level of cardiac function . Some time with medication this is completely cured.or with medication everything will be fine. hope this will help.
