Can Chondromalacia Patella In Knees Be Treated By Physiotherapy?
Namaskarom sir. I m a 35-yr-old lady with chondromalacia malacia patella. Due to a fall in 2013 Oct,I underwent surgery for microfracture in left knee with prp injections twice.Things were moving fine after surgery, but sir to my bad luck I missed steps and fell down in Jan 2016. Dr diagnosed as chondromalacia patella on both knees. Currently im on cartipep sachet, calcium with vit D tabs n on physiotherapy with bed rest to avoid further wear n tear. Sir just tell me is this curable by physiotherapy n if so how long will it take for a complete cure?I cant sleep, highly depressed n I think of putting an end to everything.I have a 7-yr-old son n so im helpless in ending too.I was of 63kg in Jan n I gained to 71kg which adds pressure to knees again.(155cm ht) TSH is ok,but very low cortisol only .50. My hand shivers n always feels fatique, losses temper. I dont know what is happening to me. I hate myself now...my life has turned upside down. Plz tell me sir what to do.im kripa from Trivandrum. I m in need of ur help.
As per my surgical experience, the chondromalacia does respond well to physiotherapy and medications as calcium, anti inflammatory and steroids. The final cure and extent depends upon the return of tissue repair level with functioning aspects which is being decided over a period of time. Share your MRI so I can guide further.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
