Can Chronic Bronchitis Cause Enlargement And Weakness In Heart?

how does chronic bronchitis lead to enlargement and weakness in the right side of the heart. I know that the right side of the heart pumps blood to the lungs for gas exchange which aren t being supplied with enough air to exchange. but what actually causes the heart to get bigger?

Hi.Can understand your concern.As per your query due to chronic bronchitis there is resistance developed inlungs which leads more load on right ventricle to pump blood which in turn leads to increase in size of right ventricle as a protective mechanism for itself...Bronchitis should be cured soon as it is reducing your immunity levels and emphasizing more load on heart .Proper investigation should be done like chest x ray and ECHO and treatment to done accordingly.I hope the information helps you.take care.
