Can Compounded Hormones Cause Chronic Migraine In A 51-year-old Who Had Undergone Hysterectomy At The Age Of 39?

I had a hysterectomy at 39 and im now 51. I have been on compound hormones for the past ten or so years. I used to get an occasional migraine over the years but I have had a chronic migraine for going on 6weeks now. I have been to the doctor several times for rx and shots and so far no relief. But now I’m wondering if my hormones could be the cause. My compound troche is biest/prog/test Your thoughts?

Hello,

Changes in hormone levels may sometimes cause headache, but, since the frequency and the pattern of the headaches have changed, other conditions should be considered and excluded before to leave the culprit to the hormones.

Sinusitis, tension headaches, and neurological conditions that may cause prolonged headache (raised intracranial pressure for example) should be considered.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
