My son is 11 years old. My daughter put some fabric softener in a bottle My son thought it was a drink and consume a bit. He is puking.I gave him milk and having him to drink water. Should I take him to the hospital now or just wait until 3 hours pass?

Hi,

You should take him to hospital as these softeners can containing caustic substances which can effect, the stomach lining or food pipe. Milk was good but it's better to take the bottle of the consumed chemical to the ER so that the contents of the bottle can be identified and specific antidote if needed can be given. Also vitals monitoring, antacids like omerperazole injectables, and arterial blood gases and blood pH monitoring.

Wishing your son a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
