Can Costochondritis Cause Palpitations ?

i have been told by my gp that i have costocondrtis its been going on for 5months now with chest pain on left side sometimes on the right, i keep getting the feeling of palpitations and skipped heartbeats, is this to do with the costo as its worrying me?
