I have mild chest pains quite often. Some feel like they are located behind left pectoral area. Some on left ribcage feel of burning/tingling and some pressure/ cramping under left armpit. I also have a little tingling in my left hand every once in a while. I am 27 year old male. 5'6" 135 lbs. Pretty fit. Smoker. I've been to a doctor they ran no tests but are treating me for chostochondritus. I am just curious if u could give me any advise or help on the matter. Thank you
thanks for your question costochondritis is inflammation of the junctions where the upper ribs join the cartilage that holds them to the breastbone (sternum).
Costochondritis causes localized chest wall pain and tenderness that can be reproduced by pushing on the involved cartilage in the front of the rib cage.
Costochondritis is a relatively harmless musculoskeletal chest pain and usually resolves without treatment.
visit a pulmonologist and reevaluate the cause and continue with the medications
in my patients i usually first check for other causes like cardiac diseases and lung diaeases and gastritis by requesting some investigations like chest xray , ecg , 2 d echo and ct scan if needed and of it is costochondritis i prescribe them analgesics or NSAIDS as needed
you beed to consult a pulmonologist who can guide you thanks feel free to ask more questions
may god bless younwith good health
