Can Cough And Congestion Be The Cause Of Shoulder Pain?

Hello, my wife has a pain on the lower part of her right shoulder blade. The pain started about 10 days ago and now is accompanied with a cough and congestion. She's not spiting pink mucus. The pain is worse at night and hot applications or ben-gay are not helping. Please, advice.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, pneumonia (lung infection) should be ruled out first.
Pneumonia can cause shoulder joint pain, cough, cold and congestion.
So better to get done chest x ray.
If chest x ray is showing pneumonia then she will need antibiotics.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry much.
Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen for shoulder pain.
Continue warm water pad application on shoulder.
