Can Coughing Cause Pain In The Chest?

I have had bronchitis for about 3 weeks now, and I had severe coughing in which my chest hurt a lot.
I felt it all around my rib cage, then on the right side, and now on the left side only. The severe coughing has stopped but when i lie down or apply pressure to the left side it still hurts a lot. could this be from coughing for so long?

Hi thanks for asking question.
Here are few possibility regarding your chest pain.
Mostly you have bronchitis that can be viral.
And in viral infection muscular pain can occur as constitutional symptom.
Symptomatic management done.
Second ya because of excess coughing or heavy weight lifting muscular pain can occur.
You can do your complete blood examination to differentiate viral from bacterial infection.
If you have fever and pain increasing day by day then better to do chest x ray to see for consolidation as a cause of pneumonia.
I hope my suggestion will help you.
Wish you good health.
